In the beginning of my academic year 2017 nothing looked promising. There was a constant worry that kept me under pressure and drained a lot of energy that should have been spent on my studies. I couldn’t afford to buy myself textbooks and the essential study material I needed. But I had the opportunity to be studying in the North West University Potchefstroom campus and this was more than enough. I had registered three modules then, and set a goal for myself to pass all the modules I had during the first semester so as to prove to those who are in a position to if not invest in me, to at least aid with my financial difficulties.
Every moment was a chance to improve and learn, and at the same time to work In order to survive. The first semester came to an end and I had done exactly as planned, I passed all the modules I had. This was now the time to execute the second phase of my mission, to start searching for financial aid to pay my studies at least. This proved to be difficult than I had actually thought. I spent most of my time going through every business office, government institution and potential financial aid agency that could at least assist a student in my situation during the second semester.
